Q: What makes the Evolution SlumberSac so special?
A: With a unique blend of mobility, customizable warmth, and integrated functionality positions the Evolution SlumberSac as a potential first-mover in the outdoor sleep gear market. By addressing long-standing pain points, such as the need to fully exit a sleeping bag for basic tasks, it fills a gap left by traditional designs. Q: Can I hand wash my SlumberSac?
A: The Evolution SlumberSac is made from a Ripstop Nylon called either Argon 67, and Argon 90. We generally recommend that you follow the instructions below:
To spot clean your Evolution SlumberSac whenever possible with a gentle spot cleaner like like Nikwax Tech Wash® or Gear Aid Revivex Pro Cleaner®.
1. Hand Washing (Bathtub Method):
Fill a clean bathtub with enough warm water to comfortably submerge the bag. Add 2fl oz (4 capfuls) of cleaner and stir. Submerge the bag and let it soak for 5-10 minutes. Gently knead and press the sleeping bag to work the soap through the fabric. Drain the tub. Refill with clean water and press the bag to rinse. Repeat this step until the water runs completely clear and no suds remain.
2. Drying:
Removing water: Carefully lift the heavy, wet bag. Dragging or pulling the bag by one end can tear internal stitching. Squeeze out as much water as possible without wringing or twisting it.
Tumble Dry: Place the bag in a large tumble dryer on air-dry or the lowest heat setting.
Fluffing: Add clean tennis balls or dryer balls to the drum to help break up down or synthetic clumps. Expect drying to take multiple cycles and require active monitoring.
Air Drying: If air drying, lay the bag flat on a large, clean surface out of direct sunlight. Shake and gently fluff the bag periodically as it dries. -
Q: Can I machine wash my SlumberSac?
A: Should the entire SlumberSac needs to be cleaned, try this first:
1. Preparation:
Check the care label on your sleeping bag for specific temperature limits.
Empty all pockets, completely zip up the main zipper, and fasten any Velcro tabs to prevent fabric snagging. Turn the bag inside out
2. Machine Washing:
Washer Type: Use a large, commercial-sized front-loading machine. Top-loading washers with center agitators can easily tear sleeping bag baffles and fabric.
Settings: Set the cycle to delicate/gentle with cold or warm water.
Cleaner Amount:
For Nikwax: Follow the product's volume guide (usually around 100 ml to 150 ml, depending on the weight of the bag). For Gear Aid: Add 4 capfuls (2 fl oz) of Pro Cleaner.
Rinse:
Run an extra rinse and spin cycle to ensure all soap is removed from the dense insulation3. Drying:
